#ATHOMEWITHTHEMAN: NOAH SAPON
What activities and/or hobbies are keeping you active at the moment?
I have a workout routine that I usually try to do everyday or every second day, but since we’ve been in lockdown it’s been way easier to do it everyday - doing so has made a huge difference. That and going on walks every now and then is what’s keeping me most active physically.
I kinda spend the rest of my time editing, planning videos and just planning general life after lockdown. There’s a lot of exciting stuff coming when this is all over so I’m happy I have something to look forward to.
When all the work is out of the way I either chill with family, call my friends or, recently, I’ve been playing games so much more. I kinda feel like this is the first holiday creatives have really been given, the rest of the time it’s on us when to take time off and in that time we could still miss out on big opportunities so it’s quite nice to be able to chill without feeling at all guilty.
How is that impacting your well being?
I love working - I’m definitely a workaholic, so having to stay home 24/7 is super difficult. At the beginning of quarantine, I was lazier and less motivated which even lead me to work less at home. I’m out of that slump now though and back to editing a LOT haha, like I’ve been getting between 1 to 3 videos done every day for the last few days - lots of content coming soon! I’m really thankful for my people around me who have been keeping me busy also.
Have you developed a structure for your days yet, if yes, what motivated you to put a structure in place?
I have tried working with a proper structure, but I haven’t actually followed through with it yet because my sleeping pattern has literally been reversed - I used to get up around 6am everyday and now I’m going to sleep at 4/5am most days so it’s difficult to get back into it again, also, since I spend most of my day editing I tend to cool off at night. So, yeah, there’s a lot that needs to be changed in terms of a schedule, it will happen, I’m just waiting to perfect it. I feel like in general I’m still trying to figure out how all of this can be used to my advantage - I’m sure I’m not the only one.
Have you discovered anything new about yourself during this lockdown period?
Not really that much honestly, it’s confirmed how much I enjoy working and that I definitely prefer physical contact with people rather than over messages, my replies have been so bad recently. I’m also really happy at the way I worked before - I have SO much of my own unreleased content, and so much with the artists I work with, that we can easily continue to release content through lockdown and it may not even scratch the surface of everything we have.
If so, how will that dictate your actions post lockdown?
I know that I’ll stay with the same work ethic as before, I’ll probably work even harder, it’s made me realise that you need to have a lot of content stashed away for emergencies like this, I’m happy with what I have but I’d love to have even more. I’m also going to be quicker to do things, there were a few trips and plans that got cancelled because of this, but if I had done it all earlier then this wouldn’t have been the case - as it turns out some of the trips will be actually more productive after opportunities that have arisen during lockdown so there is a positive side to it.
What does your work from home uniform look like?
Honestly, grey trackies and a white vest or a big hoodie haha - I haven’t been dressing up at all recently, I’ve been staying clean and healthy but yeah the drips not there... This photoshoot was soo fun because I actually had a reason to wear proper clothes again.
